General Overview

The position is part of the maintenance team who oversees safe and effective performance of all instrumentation and electrical maintenance services at the LNG Terminal. The incumbent shall support the handover of equipment and facilities during the pre-commissioning phase and ensure that the equipment and facilities meet required performance standard for operational effectiveness and efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following scope of tasks and duties:

  1. Test, calibrate, and assure all instruments in service at the facility are accurate including identifying and using a variety of test and measurement equipment including digital and analogue voltmeters, pneumatic and smart calibrators.
  2. Repair and resolve problems encountered with instruments in a timely manner that includes utilising specialised pneumatic, electrical and hand tools for such purpose.
  3. Perform effective preventive and predictive maintenance for facility computer systems and its components such as DCS, PLC’s, flow computers, and analysers.
  4. Understand and be proficient working with the facility computer systems, i.e. DCS, PLC’s, flow computers, and analysers and perform all required preventative and predictive maintenance on these systems and components.
  5. Support system completion teams in system acceptance for the project and EPC team during the plant mechanical completion period.
  6. Assist in complex trip test and function testing of control loops with in-depth knowledge of trip sequences and process fault finding.
  7. Support training of other teams to properly operate instruments and identify problems before escalation.
  8. Perform electrical tag out and log out for specific work orders under supervisors’ instructions.
Work Experience Requirements
The incumbent shall also participate in emergency response procedures and be assigned to any specific roles and responsibilities for such purpose.
  • Minimum of three (3) years practical experience in the oil and petrochemical refinery or complex utility setup.
  • Working knowledge of both conventional pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic instrumentation & components is critical to success.
  • Familiar with similar permit to work system condition, area and electrical classifications and have adhered strictly to previous company’s standard, codes, and practices.
  • Experience in mechanical systems, knowledge of cryogenic hydrocarbon plant or LNG facilities are preferred.
  • Proficient in usage of Microsoft Office and trained in the use of the CMMS
  • Familiar with pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for instrumentation.
  • Ability to speak, write and communicate effectively in English.
Education Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least Professional Certificate or NITEC, Diploma in Engineering (Electrical and Electronics)
