Talent recruitment and development is crucial to the success of every organisation. Meet Neo Hui Wen from our Human Resources team, who works with a team of HR specialists to drive and implement various initiatives at SLNG.

Q: Describe your typical work day.

My day starts off with checking emails and replying to urgent requests. Thereafter, you will usually find me in meetings to support various HR initiatives in system enhancement, talent acquisition, employee queries, and HR operations, just to name a few.

Q: What motivated you to pursue a career at SLNG?

I graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering but somehow got into HR and wasn’t making much use of my training in my previous employment. That made me think: Why not join an organisation where I can better appreciate the technical nature of the business, while at the same time pursue my HR career? It turned out to be a great move for me.

Q: What do you enjoy the most about your work?

I enjoy the level of exposure I get in my role as well as the different challenges it brings. While I hone my skills in my core competencies, I also get to experience varied projects that come my way. No two days are the same for me at work.

Q: What advice would you give to fresh grads starting their career?

Be curious and be open to new experiences. They may lead you to unexpected surprises. 

Also, embrace your mistakes. They may seem like low moments in your career but they will aid in your growth.
